Mosaico de la Luna, compuesto por Noel Carboni

Esa maravilla de foto ha sido obtenida por Noel Carboni a partir de 15 tomas diferentes de la Luna, con una velocidad de obturación de 1/5 de segundo y una sensibilidad ISO 100. Luego ha compuesto el mosaico ajustando la saturación de color de las imágenes. Si lo desean, pueden ver una versión de alta resolución de la foto.

Un detalle curioso: en la foto que aparece en el sitio de la NASA hay un cielo estrellado de fondo. Ese cielo no puede obtenerse en la misma foto que la Luna, ya que ésta refleja mucha luz del sol, y necesita unos ajustes de obturación muy diferentes a los del fondo estelar para obtener buenos resultados.

This marvelous amazing picture has been taken by Noel Carboni, using 15 different exposures with 1/5 shutter speed and ISO 100. Noel manually stitched together the pictures, adjusting color saturation of the mosaic, as you can see in this high resolution version.

Just a curious note: in the astronomy picture of the day where I first saw the picture, there is a star field behind the Moon. However, you cannot get the star field in the same picture as the Moon because our satellite reflects too much Sun light, so you need very different adjusts to get sharp pictures in both cases.
